 Saturday FA Cup Preview

Admin (Mon-Pari-Sportif.com)  - Barnsley v Chelsea

FA Cup giant-killers Barnsley, who kicked Liverpool out of the cup competition at Anfield not a long time ago, face today Chelsea in a long-awaited quarter-final.

The Championship outfit obviously would want to see their Anfield performance repeated against Avram Grant's Blues, on-loan goalkeeper Luke Steele tipped to play yet again a heroic role in today’s movie.

The hosts will however have to do without cup-tied Jon Macken and Lewis Nytanga, while Marciano Van Homoet has yet to prove his fitness. Anderson de Silva, Paul Reid and Heniz Muller are definitely out.

Chelsea will obviously rotate their squad, a few first-team players who took part in the Olympiakos thrashing likely to be rested, but Grant will make sure his squad is up to the task, as yet another cup sorrow wouldn’t go down well, following last month’s defeat in the Carling Cup final.

Verdict: Chelsea to win. I’m gonna go with a goal margin of 2 and more here @ 1.90.

Manchester United v Portsmouth

Ferguson’s men host Redknapp’s Pompey on the back of a comfy Champions League qualification over French champs Lyon.

The Red Devils played a decent game against ‘OL, although everybody could see they never had to raise their game, Perrin’s men having little threat on the hosts’ defense all night long.

Like Chelsea, Ferguson is likely to rotate slightly his squad, but the Scot will also make sure his squad wins that one, as treble is still on the cards for the Old Trafford outfit.

No new injury for the hosts. Ronaldo, who (to me) had a shocker despite scoring the only goal on Tuesday, is likely to play a better role today, against a Portsmouth side who will only miss Defoe (ineligible) and Linvoy Primus (knee).

Verdict: if Portsmouth play like they did against Preston, they will be convincingly defeated. Even though, they should lose that one. Man Utd too strong.

Final thoughts: Good cup double @ 2.54.
