Preston v Portsmouth Preview

Admin (Mon-Pari-Sportif.com)  - A real gift from the bookies as far as I can see is that 1.85 (17/20) in favour of Portsmouth, as Harry Redknapp’s men travel north to Championship strugglers Preston in the FA Cup.

I can understand their point of view as a potential trap for the Premier League outfit in a cup competition is always a likely outcome, but I can’t really bring myself to think Preston will edge a win there…

Preston are 4th from bottom iin their league, only a single point off the relegation zone, while Pompey are 8th in the elite league, they are on the look for a European spot, and they are the best travelers of the Premiership with 8 wins (along with Chelsea).

Defender Sean St Ledger (suspension), and Neal Trotman (cup-tied) are unavailable for the hosts, while Lewis Neal is doubtful.

For the visint side, Jermain Defoe is cup-tied, David Nugent is still out, but Distin and Johnson are back, and with players such as Kanu and Baros upfront, I see nothing but a win for the Portsmouth in Preston.

Verdict: Away win @ 1.85 seems like a gift. I’ll take it.
