 Manchester City v Everton Preview
Admin (Mon-Pari-Sportif.com) - A tough game to call, with this Premiership encounter between Eriksson’s City to David Moyes’ Everton at the City of Manchester Stadium. Tough game to call since both sides play more than decent football this season. The Toffees are on a series of 6 wins, which makes them the most in-form team in 2008 and favourites for the 4th place alongside the likes of Liverpool. But Man City are far from underdogs tonight, only trailing their local neighbours by a mere 3 points, and having proved to be lethal contestants to teams such as Manchester United, who they managed to defeat at Old Trafford a fortnight ago (1-2). No action since that famous derby win for Manchester City, for domestic and European cups reasons, while Everton were busy sweeping aside SK Brann Bergen (8-1 aggregate win) in the UEFA Cup. Both sides are at full strength, so nothing much to say there. It’s really difficult to call that one. Man City are very strong at home, while Everton’s overall stats are outstanding this season, close to Chelsea’s. Verdict: I am going to go for a home win here, the Draw no bet @ 1.80 taking some of the risks out, as I don’t see Everton getting more than a point, if Eriksson’s men were to fail to claim victory tonight. City have not won a home game in the Premiership since December 15th. They will push to please their fans this time, and January signing Benjani associated to Martin Petrov could well trouble the Everton defense.
