FC Brussels v Anderlecht  Preview

Admin (Mon-Pari-Sportif.com)  - Five days before meeting French side Bordeaux in the UEFA Cup, Juplier League outfit RSC Anderlecht travel to bottom side FC Brussels in what should be a confidence-boosting encounter for the Belgian big guns.

Anderlecht have been far from impressive this season, a 6th place and a very average run in the domestic league having consequently little impressed the Mauves fans, but tonight’s game away to local rivals FC Brussels should bring a bit of optimism to the Constant Vanden Stock outfit, ahead of an important European cup meeting.

FC Brussels are in absolute tatters. Bottom of the league with 11 points, 3 wins in 20 games, and the worst defense of the Jupiler league, the Molenbeek team hasn’t won since November 11th 2007, and one draw and 6 consecutive defeats (including a 7-2 against Westerlo, a 1-4 against Cercle Brugge and a 0-5 against Genk) have been the worst results of the squad since then.

Verdict: I expect Anderlecht to win this one. Asian Handicap of a goal @ 2.00 looks decent. Pieroni (on loan from Nantes) has got a point to prove. He could be on target tomorrow night.
