 Celtic v Barcelona Preview
Admin (Mon-Pari-Sportif.com) - Rijkaard’s Barca is traveling to Scotland to meet Strachan’s Celtic in an ever-boiling Parkhead stadium tonight. Interesting tie, as it is always let’s be honest in the last stages of the glorious Champions League, with the Hoops, undefeated since December 16th (that was in the league against Inverness), locking horns with Spanish giants Barcelona. Let’s admit it. Barca are heavy favourites even on Scotish soil. On paper, they look like an amazing squad, but one will ask why they are not seen as favourites to win the Champion league this year. Reason number one, they have not impressed that much in their domestic league, their away form (4W, 6D, 2L), their inconsistency, to name only a few. Resaon number two, they remind a lot of people about Real Madrid’s Galactical period, with a large number of star players (Ronaldinho, Eto’o, Henry, Messi, Deco..etc) finding it difficult to gel as a team. Samuel Eto'o is back from injury and should lined up alongside Messi, Ronaldinho and Henry, formation unbelievably used for only the second time this term. For that reason, and also for the fact Parkhead is always a tough place to play at, Celtic should not be under-estimated. The fighting spirit of the Bhoys and the impressive backup from the fans will definitely play a role tonight. Verdict: Barca are heavy favourites, no doubt. But as Celtic play at home, and as you never know what might happen (like Materrazzi’s red card last night against Liverpool), I will place a small stake on the hosts with Draw no Bet @ 3.25. I won't lose my house on this and it’s a bit tempting, even if not much likely.
